Become the Grim Lord!

Lead your armies through mortal lands, raze villages and claim souls.

Die and rise again from your ashes and enhance your summoning spells through a deep progression system.

In this arcade game with rogue-lite elements, you have to summon your army through the “portal towers”. Many different minions from another plane can be conjured at your disposal. Hire the strongest armies and show the villagers no mercy! Reap the souls of mortals to increase your power. After the fight, unlock perks for you and your army.

Gather your strength anew and return from “oblivion” once again, for the doom you bring can only be set back, but it could never be vanquished!

It's a bit late, but I also played the game and it was enjoyable, although I felt a bit lost here and I just spammed with tower creation or something like that lol

Thanks for the email! Your game was pretty cool, really enjoyed it! It gets pretty hectic once those archers start to show up lol! I didnt get to really use the upgrade menu much in between runs, things are pretty expensive there compared to how many bricks you earn from each house, other than that, it was pretty cool! I think something that would make it even cooler is with every upgrade you purchase in the middle of a run, your Lord evolves a bit, just consmetic but it would be super sick in my opinion.

Hope you enjoy the video!

(+2)

I'm glad you like it; this is just the beginning!
We have many ideas and designs to test out with the community. You'll find that using the second Lord, the Necromancer (unlockable if you beat the first boss), is a different experience.
A new Lord, minions, cards, and one new level are on their way to be released for the early access on Steam. So stay tuned!

(+2)

BTY, your video is great, I enjoyed it, and I was super curious if you would be able to unlock the Necromancer and your opinion about the different stats.

(+2)

Guess I'll have to give it another go

If you are fighting Corneiouls Jr the boss there is a bug. once you get all of your towers placed down the boss will fall and your minions will start to spawn. If you then place another one of your towers on top of an existing tower the game will crash. I saw you said you fixed it but it is still happening now

(+2)

Thanks for your report. We will check again. (and again and again, nobody can stop us from removing this issue. It's a matter of time.)

(+3)

Ok, we have just dropped another update with the fix related to your issue. Thanks to your effort to describe the procedure, we found this strange behavior in the code. Resolved!

(+2)

Thank you for the quick fix to the issue. If I come across anything else I will let you know. I am having a great time playing and can't wait to see where this goes in the future.

(+5)

Lovely game

(+3)

Thank you, buddy!

(+3)

Made a video

(+3)

That's amazing!
Thank you for your effort. The result is very entertaining.

(+3)

Happy you enjoyed it

(+3)

Love the game. The music and graphics are great. Here is a video (made when the update hit, gonna try the new version).

(+2)

Thanks for your kind words. Your gameplay is still valid because we didn't change the core mechanics in a meaningful way in the newest version. I have to say that we are not so far from the Early Access launch. We will deliver various new features on that day, so stay tuned!

(+3)

Hey, very nice game. I enjoyed it very much!

(+2)

Thank you! ♥
I know that you love villain protagonists, but I'm delighted that you enjoyed our gameplay as well.

(+4)

Hey checked your game for a vid! Like it so far! (Played it before the update tho. Will probably check it again soon on stream.

(+2)

It's amazing! Thank you!

One piece of advice: the streaming and recording quality would be better if you play without the scanline effect (you can disable it in the settings menu).

I'm eager to see you playing the new version <3

I know I said blue archers are op but jesus f**king christ I'm getting 2 shot even with a bunch of hp upgrades. If it was a boss or miniboss I could understand but these are enemies that fill the screen and endlessly respawn. It's like playing vampire survivors but you're the mini boss. Not even the boss just a pitiful little mini boss. Maybe the next grim lord could be a blue archer. It can't summon minions or anything.  Literally just the enemy but under player control. Might be a bit too strong though.

(+3)

Today we are going to release an upgrade that can help with the overall survival rate. Mark my word, after this update the blue wave can be overcome. Not an easy feat, they are intended as a friendly push forward the boss fight, but beatable. :D

Thank you for your patience!

(+3)(-1)

Those blue archers are op. It feels like after a certain point they just start spawning endlessly and I end up spending the rest of my run running for my life.

(+2)

I know the feeling bro. To better fight those damn archers I usually bulk up the Grim Lord's speed so I can avoid them and their arrows while at the same time I can build many portals all around: nearest the portals, better the defense.
Anyway, the main target usually is the Boss, so at the first chance, when I'm powerful enough, I drop into the boss area without thinking too much about surviving. The real deal is my beloved Cornelius Jr.!

(+4)

Great game! But how do I unlock other lords? Is it with resources, or some other thing that I am not seeing

(+2)

The second lord has to be freed from its confinement beating the first boss, and looking for the cage-altar that locks its body. The third Lord... well, other Grim Lords are on their way to be included. One update after another, so better stay in the loop with us! :D

(+5)

Hey nice one, fun to play :D

(+2)

Thank you! And the next update will be even more engaging! (and hard) :D

(+4)

can u release in 32bit? i cant play

Please ,  i want play this game :D

(1 edit) (+2)

Unfortunately, we cannot support also a 32-bit release, but I tested the web app and I found it working very well on 32-bit browsers, so, play on this page to your heart's content. We keep Itch.io regularly updated.

(+5)

good game! but it's boring when i run away, can you put more powerful powers to destroy everything ?! thanks!

(+2)(-1)

Maybe the features that we will ship in the next update will be more entertaining and engaging, but a total screen eraser (just like bombs or shockwaves) is far to be designed in the current iteration. I'm going to bring this idea into the community. Maybe a Grim Lord with the power of earthquakes will do? We have to discuss it on Discord in the future. Thanks for your suggestion!

(+1)(-1)

Try the new setting and the new boss fight. I can assure you that without new powers the experience is now more engaging.
I'm waiting for your feedback! :D

(+4)
I like the game, it fascinates me. I can play with it for hours, hoping not to die for at least 10 minutes :D
(+2)

Thank you! I think you will love the next update ;)

(+2)

Thank you so much for the kind words! Wishing your GrimLord to survive even longer! :D

(+5)

I loved the game, has that cool looking old style vintage TV point of view, really enjoyed the game!

(+3)
